Guinevere Thomas

Director | Writer

Guinevere Thomas is an LA-based writer/director from Austin, Texas. Guinevere received her MFA in Directing from the American Film Institute Conservatory. During her undergraduate education, her script, Inheritance, was a semi-finalist in The LAUNCH Million Dollar Student Screenplay Contest.

In addition to AFI, Guinevere interned in development at Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions and Ava DuVernay’s ARRAY in their ARRAY Crew division. Chosen to be mentored by C. Robert Cargill, Guinevere spends most of her time at Crooked Highway shadowing the writer/producer. Being raised in Texas, to Louisiana Creole parents, Guinevere has always allowed her cultural roots to guide her work. In her films, she explores growing pains, family, and the Southern Black American experience through horror and comedy.

Guinevere's most recent film is  her AFI thesis titled: The Garden of Edette. A film about a lonely Creole woman who must choose between sacrificing herself or a newfound friend to her flesh-eating garden.
